Using part transform to move its position in vessel during flight

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to move parts on same vessel during flight ?

I'm not talking about Infernal Robotics style of joints, just plain radial and stack attachment nodes.

I know  that KAS and USI Konstruction Docking Port can alter vessels in flight, what i'm asking is can the existing nodes be moved around in flight, as they are in editor ? What type of part-to-part connection is used ?

Do radial and stack nodes use different modules (built into KSP itself) ?

Using stock mechanics? No.

Using a whole ton of custom code to replicate the attach-node functionality in the flight-scene?  Sure... KIS does exactly that.  Probably the best place to start investigating, as they have already done quite a bit of the hard work of figuring out how to get it working in the flight scene.
