[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]

You forgot a planet 9 analogue, a makemake analogue, a haumea analogue, an eris analogue, and a planet 10 analogue.

Not forgotten, just not included.  Why should the ones you list be included but not a couple hundred other moons, asteroids, and TNOs.  It has to stop somewhere.

Hi everyone, small question : is the planet system of KSP with the add of the outer planet mod stable in N-body physicis (Principia mod) or did they fall in sun :P ?

That's for you to discover and share with the class. As far as I know, Principia was never considered when OPM was first made.

Hmm, I suggest that everything that looks less crumply than the famous Elvis-Presley-Potato should be included as an analogue ...

Not sure how much changed under the hood, but Planetshine finally got updated after all this time! Has anyone found if OPM is working with this new version?

KSP updated to 1.4.3.2152. OPM broke. The two probes that were on their way to Urlum and Neidon are now on their way to meet the kraken...sad times. Whats worse is I spent two hours in the VAB before I realised the alarm clock read an SOI change was in 89years instead of the expected 5years.

Well, Kopernicus is version locked and doesn’t work I’m newer versions until it is updated for that particular version. Nothing we can do about that. It’s never recommended to update KSP when using a planet pack. At least you know for next time to make a back up of your ksp install. Lessons learned :)

I've made an accurate (but Kerbal-scaled) Planet 9, Sedna, and Haumea (plus the largest object in it's collisional family) for myself in Kopernicus, and I doubt anybody would really want them in their game.  They are so far away that they are essentially impossible to reach and transmit signals from.

Hi Galileo! Thanks a lot for making this mod, first time I'm playing with a planet pack and I'm really enjoying it.

I would just like to ask a clarification about your above comment... are you saying:

a) Simply warning against auto updates when playing with a planet pack and to wait until kopernicus and OPM are updated to the current version. I can continue using my existing 1.4.2 save file with KSP 1.4.3 once Kopernicus and OPM are updated to 1.4.3

OR

b) recommending to never update the game at all for a given save when playing with a planet pack. That is to say I should stick with the current 1.4.2 versions of KSP, Kopernicus and OPM for my existing 1.4.2 saves even after the 2 mods are updated to 1.4.3. Only update the game and planet mods with a brand new, fresh save file.

Cheers

You can continue once kopernicus is update, which it already is ;)

OPM is compatible with 1.4.3 as well. I just need to update the OP when I get some time

Thanks! I'm playing with about 70 mods so I'm not in a rush, best to be cautious. But good to know I can when I feel ready.

I must be missing something.

I think the RA-100 is the biggest radio in the game and out by Sarnus, the signal is pretty sketchy.

Having just today figured out the gravity assist, Plock here I come!, I'm gonna need a bigger radio.

Am I missing something or should I be putting in relays around Jool. :)

Fantastic mod Galileo. Really digging the re-playability you add.

There are more upgrades to the tracking center to boost the dsn-- or there's also a super-duper range antenna you could download... ;)

I am playing in sandbox mode for the time being.

Something tells me I am gonna want more practice with the gravity assist. I think I need big relays in polar orbit around every planet out to Plock. :D

Slick!

I was wondering what type of numbering scheme I would settle on, but this is pretty well thought out. Thank you for sharing!

Nice...am looking to try out OPM in 1.4.3

The install instructions show Kopernicus and Custom Barn Kit as dependencies.

From a visual perspective, I assume it's scatterer, EVE, SVE, and Poods OPM Visual update?

Plan on updating SVE this weekend. It includes clouds for OPM now, but there is a small issue I need to fix, but yes, those are all supported

Does Custom Asteroids still work with OPM in version 1.4.3, or even useful?

The question is "Does Custom Asteroids work?" OPM's config for it is still there. But OPM has a Kopernicus asteroid config now and it will always work (as long as Kopernicus itself works).

can you give the file required to turn the pluto representation into a binary  system

"Sigma Binary" is the mood you're looking for. Just install/drop it in, and it does its thing. :)
