You could put a probe at the north pole, and set it as a target, hopefully that would work.

then the compass would be set to 'point at target', the navball could work in a similar fasion.

Indeed, I had the same idea.

And I might have a solution for the altimeter. Using rocket engines. One made for vacuum thus low ISP at surface level, one with a more constant ISP. While climbing the one with the low ISP will start to produce more thrust.

Complicated, but it just might work. but it would require cheats, and be really big... but Jeb would approve, I imagine!

Mechanics for airspeed and altimeter not implemented yet, just testing the rotation of the needles. Altimeter and VSI are going to be problematic since we don't have a vacuum we can utilize. I'm going to try a trick with different rocket engines, one meant for space and another one for sea level. The difference in ISP could provide me with what I need. Heading indicator is going to be relatively easy. Turn indicator will probably need a real gyro, the slip indicator is easy.

I don't think I'll be building a VOR or NDB.

AWESOME!!!!!!! Now we need a twin turboprop airplane with real control surfaces, an ejector seat, this panel, and then make it an ssto!

That's impossible in all aspects. You literally just took a bunch of concepts that you thought were cool, and shoved them together.

Well, all of these things have been done separately! perhaps omit the "twin"  part.

And perhaps an Ssto is also too hard., but hey! azimech has proved us wrong before!
