looking for drop ship parts

I am trying to create some battletech style drop ships (see below) but I'm at a lack for curved parts.  Does any one know of a parts pack (1.3) with curved structural parts other then clear domes?

You could try Procedural Part with some custom texture packs. However, you'll never get the look of that beast in the OP.

AFAIK, there are no mod packs with curved parts that would be able to make something like that.  I know there is a Discovery mod for an earlier version of the game (Discovery, as in the ship from 2001: A Space Odyssey, which has a spherical forward command module, but definitely NOT in the scale you want, although Tweakscale might help with that), but I don't know if it works with the current version.

Most people who do large curved surfaces like that just make 'em out of lots of small flat panels.  It'll end up looking like a 3D model wireframe, but you can approximate the correct shape(s).

Just don't have a heart attack when your FPS drops into single digits due to the part count.

The only other option is to make the parts yourself and mod them into the game.
