Self Destruct?

Recommended Posts

Screenshots of ships exploding, mostly.

Also, it might be nice to be able to '[' or ']' through local debris and clean it up quickly without having to go back to the tracking center.

Well, that would be useful. But I'd be a bit worried about the self-destruct button  being close to more prosaic options

It's a good idea. Nowadays that means going to the tracking center (loading screen) and making sure you're deleting the right ships with a two step verification process. A self destruct button somewhere would be a lot more agile.

Plus explosions

James Hetfield is a well-known demolitions expert, and specialises in systems of self-destruction in vehicles and facilities. You should go ask him. :P

And yes, I know this comment is completely stupid and out of context, it's just that, whenever a sentence or phrase is said in average conversation, I instantly hear the song associated with it. Can't resist.

Don't worry!!! Given the right amount of time, anybody can compile a simple C# module that allows for random self-destruct. Then, using some stuff involving ModuleManager, you can add the module to every stock part! However, somebody has already done that, so I won't try to make a competing mod.

I just strap a few bombs (from BDAc) to the interior of the ship and activate them whenever I want a big explosion that will take out everything near the craft

Not that it has happened. Totally didn't do forty-seven consecutive tests on various locations. Lies. All of them.
