ABOUT

The Kerbal Dust Experiment (KDEX) by @masTerTorch is a replica of LADEEs LDEX instrument. It comes with an animated model and tons of results.

Inspired by the NASA mission LADEE. The objective of LADEE was to investigate the mysteries of the lunar atmosphere and the question of levitated lunar dust. It carried a scientific instrument called the Lunar Dust Experiment (LDEX). This instrument was an impact ionization dust detector. In this way it was possible to measure the density of dust particles.

Kerbals are known for impacts and collisions and since 0.22 they do science. KDEX combines impacts and science.

This part is giving you the opportunity to do more science.

Doing science the Kerbal way!

No just that the science results shown after the experiment has been run are customised for various bodies and biomes, primarily Kerbin, Mun, and Minmus, instead of just having one or two result strings.

First Thank you for this great mod!

 

I don't want to bother you, but I'm working on setting up a new install (KSP 1.7.3 with both DLCs and many mods) (after not having played KSP for over 12 moths) and I was wondering, if there will be a new update in the next days/weeks?

Or at least a rough ETA of some sort?

 

Because I saw a new update (v1.11.4) on github, but it isn't available on CKAN and I didn't find the download link:

Ah, right. I didn't create a separate ZIP as it's literally the last version just with an updated "version" file to mark it compatible. I didn't want people to have to download it again.

CKAN "should" have just worked though; hmm.  I'll look into it. but you can just use the last version. Edit the "version" file if AVC complains that the mod's not compatible (it is) and you don't like the warning.

Sorry for the delay (was off diving), will review it this week :)

But just as a quick note - I have held off localising this mod before as that would break compatibility with pre-1.6 (I think) versions of KSP.  So until/unless people contribute languages other than english I'm reluctant to actually go ahead with that.  

That said: Who wants to help and provide some translations? ;)

There are many many players that have ESL - so good chance - there is also the localization thread. this is a small project - except for the sciencedef.cfg - and even that is smallerish.

I speak something like 17 languages - only one is human... :o

I only speak Anglish - and not even all that well. I speak machine language better. :o

Tested and marked compatible with KSP 1.10.x

Should probably just mark it as compatible ad-infinitum until some distant future update breaks something fundamental..
