It still rains acid though.

A planet of dieselpunk dream.
Hard industrial noire: mist, dark clouds, zeppelins, acid rains, 450° hot kiln beneath, 90 atm pressure around.

All you need to wearer some shorts, a teeshirt, and a respirator.

Might want some more cloths due to the acid...

If there were suits capable of withstanding Venus's conditions, I'd live there.

Like seriously, I was born liking harsh and unruly conditions.

More than that, I am have a special joy smelling kerosine, benzine and etc.

Actually, just a wetsuit would be enough.

Even in the atmosphere, you would still need an oxygen mask (duh) and a chemical protection suit (ya know for the acid rain).

So you would look less like this:

And more like this

I mean the surface.

I'd actually love to see the surface too, but only like an hour. Even if im 100% safe, im still easily paranoid. I grew up in extremely an mundane environment.

On the plus side for Venus, it has Earth-like gravity. Blocking sunlight and introducing hydrogen there is one thing, but giving Mars more gravity??? We only know that gravity is somehow a by-product of mass, so we'd need to collide the planet with super-massive objects, wrecking havoc. Or live with the consequence of adaptation to low-gravity environment and martian life diverging from Earth considerably.

Don't worry, your job will be to patch up tears in gasbags at dizzy heights, if you slip you'll only see the surface for a brief moment.

its not so much wanting to go to space as not wanting to live on this planet anymore.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how ever-spreading alien invaders are born. AKA us.

"I don't like this planet anymore, let's find a new one."

~50 years later~

"Well now this one's messed up too. Let's move again...."

Ad infinitum

Better do our best to fix this one. The only thing stopping the world from being a perfect utopia is our refusal to believe it's possible. Among other things.
