Trying to prune my add-on list as the loading times are unbearable, need advice

This is my list of add-ons

Even with a top of the line samsung pro series SSD, the game is taking 10-15 minutes to load, which is unheard of for me with ANY software.

I was hoping I could show y'all this list and those of you who have been doing this for years might be able to point out some obvious redundancies or unsupported add ons that would be good to remove.  My ADD/OCD makes it nearly impossible for me to choose any to delete without becoming anxious I'll immediately wish I didn't.

In general the biggest offenders are going to be mods with lots of parts.  So the first ting I would do is look at each and decide how often you actually use those parts.  Personally I prefer using the minimal amount of parts mods.  I like the challenge of solving a rocket design with what's available vs just grabbing more parts.

Along those lines, you can pretty easily remove individual parts from mods.  Just remove the cfg files for stuff you don't plan to use.

Keep the parts you want, and delete the rest.  It adds up, and can help loading times quite a bit.

Awesome thanks guys.  See, I have the opposite problem, where I just love having as much variety as possible.  I'm comfortable with the code enough so I edit any parts that I feel are imbalancing my game , but I often start career mode and thenthen spend 6 hours building my first craft - and then just restart my career because that buuild gave me a ton of ideas of more mods and different parts I want to try haha

I'll see if i can use SOME logic to comfortably drop a fraction of the parts in there.if that's what will help most

I think janitor's closet lets you choose which parts to not load.

It does.  Janitor's closet is a wonderful utility, and a permanent part of my load order.

JC pruning  does essentially the same thing as removing config files, and is more easily reversible than deleting files.

Warning: some mods put multiple parts in the same cfg file, so if you disable the file (however you do it) you may get more than you bargained for.
Part of the reason I tend to delete by hand is that.  Best to read the cfg file first, or you won't know what you're buying into.

Ya know, I worked it all out and now I have more mods than before and everything is running and loading great.

It was installed on a Samsung 850 pro SSD as it was, and I'm running a GTX1080, i5 6500, 16gb of RAM.

So my processor, if anything, is where I'm most vulnerable and that's where KSP hits ya so what I did was start using this really handy little app that isolates your OS and then gives whatever software you insruct it to the highest priority.

As a tech guy I thought it'd be a major ripoff when I saw it, but the loads of good reviews convinced me and it's really made a huge difference every time I run it.  It's called CPUCores; I got it on steam.
