All graphics. Turned it off, I keep trying to drag the view around like it's KSP.

Hopefully Ariane 6 will feature some better cameras.

Too cautious.

Welcome to spaceX.

We build testbeds out of sheet metal.

Any plans for Ariane 6 reuseability?

Wow, the AOV-CSG took much better shots than usual :o !!!

Slow-mo' only, but still more enjoyable than the traditional recordings they are uploading.

I'm glad this dry spell on launches is ending.

This article was posted recently in this thread or another detailing Arianespace’s logic.  It basically boiled down to “jobs program.” But at least it’s not SLS

I think that a certain commenter on this article put it most succinctly.

Quote

Gentlemen, we are witnessing a race. It is a race to build the last expendable launch vehicle. It is a race the participants don't want to win.

Why does every rocket with 4 extended legs look like a falcon 9 to me?

Because most of them are flatly copying the F9.

After Starship becomes a success, everyone will copy it.

Blue Origin won‘t have to copy the incredible shrinking Starship, they will already have New Glenn when it launches.

New Glenn isn't in the same league with Starship. Smaller, not fully reusable, not refuelable, not designed to fly with crew.

just wait for some inevitable design revisions on „Starship“ and they will be.

You do realize starship v3 is larger than v2, right?

One thing I haven't been able to figure out is whether the fins on Themis are retractable or not. The video shows long, high aspect ratio fins, but it seems like that would be the worst setup based on my knowledge of supersonic aerodynamics.

To be fair, payload capacity on v3 is 2/3 of v2 on initial versions (100t vs 150t), but that should improve in v3.1 which will have vacuum engines.
