End of year aircraft awards: If it flies, i buyz

Recommended Posts

The end of 2017 is here... so show off all your creations however weird or wacky to the rest of the community. No spacecraft or SSTO's in this one.

https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/168549-end-of-year-spacecraft-awards-if-it-flies-i-buyz/ <--- This is the spacecraft competition.

The rules are elegantly simple:

-Must be built after 31st December 2016 and before the closure of entries on the 1st January 2018.

-Each entry must have a CLEAR screenshot that shows ALL of the machine

-Each entry must have a short description

-Each entry must have a KerbalX download. (and link) If not, use Dropbox or Google Drive.

-Unlimited number of entries but please stay reasonable.

-And finally, all entries must be aircraft and NOT spacecraft, SSTO's etc.... are banned. (I'll make a separate spacecraft award)

You must post your creations BEFORE the 31st December at 23:59 GMT. After this, any submissions won't be accepted.

After the 31st December there will be a 10 day voting period, starting on the 1st January and finishing on the 10th January. Whichever creation has the most votes is the  plane of the year and the creator will get a cool badge. Good luck!

This is the Skots Rat - A huge passenger liner built for the following competition:

By competition rules, it can fly 384 pasengers. It also weighs 300 tons. I am sure somebody will come and top this, but I like starting races to make huge things. The thing flies ok, and can circumnavigate Kerbin. (Theoretically, I never completed it)

K-7210 “Condor”

Commissioned: Feb. 10, 2017 for the Kerbin Circumnavigation challenge.

Original presentation:

A screenshot that shows the general make up of the airframe:

x96iZb9.jpg

Original Description:

K-7210 “Condor” was an experimental plane built to circumnavigate Kerbin (see the forum challenge thread) and for other miscellaneous tasks the contracts might offer.

Stats:

- Pure Stock
- 56 parts
- Mass (fully laden): 52.92 t
- Unit Cost: 76846 kerbucks
- Crew capacity in default configuration: 1 (pilot)
- Fuel Capacity: 6240
- Estimated Range: The entirety of Kerbin.

Known Flaws:

In the last version of KSP, the original model 7210 displays overheating problems at ~20+ minutes of continuous flight at full throtlle in the lower atmosphere. Reduce speed and/or apply other measures as necessary.
