You are going to need more rules... what about infinite pressure? Max amount of ore allowed? What about exploiting krakens the danny way?

That's hard enough you need to either fly your sub Their or sail it Their which requires fuel and time so it's is a challenge

Subs aren't terribly hard to make or control. This one was made in like 30 minutes, and it can go as deep as it's fuel lasts:

I suggest adding a twist to the challenge, with something extra that has to be accomplished. A lot of people already have submarine designs lying around

How about the fastest time to the bottom? The smallest craft by weight or part court? No dropping bits off or a return category?

Different categories seem to encourage people rather than a set of rules as it allows people to play to their strengths.

Fastest to a certain depth sounds good. But we would need some rules to avoid engine spam....

The depth one has been done before.  If I remember correctly, the deepest part around KSC is about 1100 or 1200m

This challenge just doesn’t have enough meat to it. I could literally just make an underwater rover and then look at some topographic maps of kerbin to win this.
