Mechjeb is disabling jet throttle

I have discovered that Mechjeb is disabling my liquid engine throttle. The rocket throttle works fine.

I am using KSP 1.3.1 and have the latest MechJeb2-2.6.1.0-769. Each time I put Mechjeb on an aircraft I have no throttle control for the liquid engines. It's really frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any ideas?

My advice? Don't use MechJeb.

If you want actual help though, you'd have better luck asking in the MechJeb release thread over in the modding section.
