Making a tech tree

I know this question has been asked multiple times, but I have yet to find a good tutorial. 

How do you make a tech tree and fill it with stock parts?

If you could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Check out this tech tree: 

 

The main file in the github repo is https://github.com/ChrisAdderley/CommunityTechTree/blob/master/GameData/CommunityTechTree/Tree/CommunityTechTree.cfg ,which has the MM edited nodes at the beginning and the newly created nodes at the end. 

I would also recommend looking at the stock tech tree file and making small edits to that to see how they show up ingame.

You may want to try this. It's an in-game tool for creating a tree from scratch. I haven't installed it myself so I can't give any advice but since Linux owns it now, it's definitely in a working state and current with KSP.

I found that Yonge reboot to involve more learning syntax and writing code than simple Module Manager patches to change tech nodes, so I haven't really seen the point
