Mechjeb 2 creates extra stage

Was  playing  fine  in  my  career  until  I  got  one  of  the  mechjeb upgrades(the  one  for  the  Rover  I  think) and  now  my  deltav  window  always  has  a  blank  stage  added  to  the  bottom.

The  stage  doesn't  actually  exist  it  has 0 for  all  of  its  stats, its  not  on  my  stage  list  in  the  hanger, launchpad or  vab, but  it  is  listed  in  my  mechjeb  window.

is their any input on this? have i done something wrong?

now it seems to add two empty stages.

i built a six stage rocket to go to the mun, but once it loaded the launch pad it added two stages with 0twr and 0dv
