Small science crate

I've been building a large number of extremely compact spacecraft as of late, including a absolutely tiny little motorcycle, and I'm finding that the stock science storage box is a little bulky for what I am trying to do. Does anyone know of a very small part (think .3125m diameter or even smaller) that could be used to store, say, surface samples from EVA?

You can shrink the science crate by going into the config file and changing the rescale factor to 0.5 or 0.25. See how you like it, and change it accordingly.

I wound up editing the Tweakscale patch list to include the stock science box, and it works just fine.

If you're open to mods other than Tweakscale, this one:

has a "science hard drive" from the days before the stock science box arrived.  Smaller and performs the same function.  Though if I recall correctly (and it hasn't changed since then), it differed from the stock unit in that it could only store a limited number of science reports.  I recall adjusting its .cfg file to make it effectively infinite

I installed this one wayyy back and even though it hasn't been updated, it still works great for me and I use it on most of my science vessels. I think you'll find it a good size for what you want. The last page of the thread has some tweaks to make to the cfg to bring it up to more modern standards of temperature and breaking force.
