Removing the skybox

Let's face it: the current KSP skybox is absolutely hideous, and so much more immersion comes from a skybox that is completely pitch-black. There is a mod that I recall, which was able to:

a) take the skybox and make it's brightness 0.

b) take other objects and planets, showing them as dots in the sky, allowing you to actually spot satellites from the ground like in real life.

That was an awesome mod, yet I cannot find it with the limited Google abilities that I have. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where it is/ what it's called?

Distant Objects Enhancement is the mod that you seem to be looking for. You can see the skybox that you are using (default or otherwise) during night however.

Texture replacer? And simply replace the skybox bitmaps with NZ (all-black) ones?
