how do you get rid of mods that scatter and you cant find all the files to get rid of them

why do some mods like to scatter around and now i have this mod stuck in my game and it make's things disappear when there detached

Me personally, I know of no mods which scatter their files around, they stay neatly in their install folders. Perhaps you're dragging them around by mistake?
