Why isn't my Orbit contract getting completed?

Recommended Posts

I just started playing KSP and I'm trying to complete the very first Orbit contract on career mode. After many attempts, I finally got an orbit. However as you can see, my contract isn't getting checked off. I googled it and tried saving and quitting, going to Tracker Station and back to flying. Nothing worked. I also found that some were saying that there were specific Orbit requirements on contracts but I couldn't find out if mine had that.  Is there anything I'm missing on getting this contract completed?

Edit: Read the FAQ, there's this line about my problem: "Also check the AN and DN markers, if they are close to 180 you are orbiting in the opposite direction." I don't know what this means or if it applies.

mmm, that's one of the few cases where i might call it bug, because i can't see anything wrong with your orbit ( a part for the fact that you had to work a lot more to reach a polar orbit than a standard one), because you are well above the 70 km mark

The polar orbit wasn't intentional. I just can't tell which way I'm going when I'm launching

I guess I could try doing a standard orbit and see if it recognizes that.

That bit of advice is about satellite launch contracts, where you are required to match a predefined orbit fairly closely.

In your case, your contract is just to get into orbit in any way you can. And you have clearly achieved that. So the first thing you should do now is to make a copy of your persistent.sfs file inside the saves subdirectory of your KSP folder. Also, if you have not yet restarted KSP since the last time you launched and flew a vessel into orbit, make a copy of ksp.log inside your KSP folder.

Find some way to host both of these files for download on the internet. The easiest solution is usually some form of cloud storage, like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive... because you automatically have this just by having an account at Google or Microsoft.

Post download links here. I have flagged this post for moving to tech support by a moderator.

EDIT: Oh, and after you have done that - if you want to keep playing without waiting, you can force the contract complete via the Alt+F12 debug menu.

Will do when I get home from work. Thanks for the help.

Here's the 2 files as requested.

After I copied them I launched the game and loaded it just to see if Murphy's Law would fix it for me. Still not working :(

Edit: This game is broke:
