Strange RCS effect in 1.4.2

Hi. I have very strange RCS effect. I deleted all mods that adds something to RCS. But in still remains. The jet stream is too big and bright, and it point in wrong dirrection. Ship turn in the dirrection the jets a pointed, not in opposite. Is there any mod that can couse it? Or is it a 1.4 bug with shuriken particle system?

Here is a screen. Im pressing [A], so it must tilt to the left, but jets also pointed to the left.

As I understand it, they changed the structure of the code that governs the visual thrust plume, so the RCS thrusters in older mods will do this, you just need to wait until the modders update to the current version.

I also experienced this.

I tried to reverse the direction of RCS in a part model, but no change occurred.

How to work RCS effect in a KSP?

How to set size of thrust effect?

My part's effect size huge, the KSP inner part's (RV-105 RCS Thruster Block) effect little.

I had the same problem with the 'basic' RCS module in SSTU.  Plumes were scaled waaaay too large, and in the opposite direction of the thrust.  Was purely a visual problem, as I could verify the thrust was correct for the keyboard inputs while in orbit.

My 'fix' was to switch over to using the EFFECTS + ModuleRCSFX setup.

No mod required. You just have to replace the ModuleRCS with EFFECTS + ModuleRCSFX in config file of part (part.cfg) that contains the rcs nozzle.

As the @Shadowmage wrote.

I commented on the original rcs module and put into ModuleRCSFX and EFFECTS.

It is important that the EFFECTS transformname should match the name of the MODULE (transformName = RCSthruster     ==      thrusterTransformName = RCSthruster).

This thread is almost two years old, but in case anybody comes across this while searching for a solution as they want to use older mods that haven't adapted this, I'll leave this here:

I have created a module manager patch that fixes all "old" RCS parts without changing anything about their actual RCS thrust or changing any "new" RCS parts.

You can download it here.

Just put it anywhere in your GameData folder, I recommend creating an extra folder called "RCS Fix" or "Patches" or something.
