CommNet still functions even disabled

I have disabled commnet but it's still persisting. What to do?

Is it still working, or does it just appear to be there?   Are you losing control of your ships when out of range? Or is it just drawing connection lines on the map with no impact on gameplay?

CommNet introduced "signal strength" bars on your display. When the bars go to zero, you can't communicate. If you disable CommNet, then you can always communicate.

So, by "still persisting", exactly what do you mean? I have seen myself that immediately after you disable CommNet that the display remains in the corner of the screen, but it's harmless.
