Multi Satellite Launch

Recommended Posts

So, I check mission control this morning and I have two separate missions for satellites around the mun. Build rocket, two satellites in line separated by decouplers.

I get to the moon, position in the first designated orbit, and release the first satellite.

The problem is now my mun insertion stage and second satellite are labeled "[rocket name] debris" and are uncontrollable. I made sure and the main part does still have it's own power, antenna, and OKTO, so why is it acting like dead??

Any help would be awesome, as I really dont want to start this from scratch again.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry you are having problems.

If it has an OKTO, it should never be debris, so we will need you to post a picture so we can look for anything strange. Are you running any mods?

As far as "uncontrollable" goes -- are you using commnet, and do you have signal back to Kerbin?

Update: I fixed it.

Rephrase: nothing was broken I'm just an idiot.

So, turns out what happened is, due to odd physics craziness, my decoupler ring stayed up against my second satellite instead of drifting off... so when I [ away from the first satellite I see my main stage... camera going around it like I always does, looking for all the world like I'm flying it, but it's called debris and I have no control. Go out to map mode and it says debris too... so I go post this question.

Turns out all i had to do was hit [ one more time, and I never even tried. Smh.
