Or they're brilliant at it, and are hiding in plain sight. It's so widely known that it's a conspiracy theory, and no one in their right mind would believe it. Anyone who exposes information about it is obviously crazy, and should be disregarded. It naturally follows that some of the more outlandish claims about the Illuminati are spread by the Illuminati themselves, to cover up the more believable true ones that are spread by anti-Illuminati agents.
