Contract question: Test the Terrier on an escape trajectory out of Kerbin

Okay, this two-star contract is giving me fits. What exactly constitutes an "escape trajectory out of Kerbin"? I've been on a Mun encounter trajectory while still in Kerbin's SOI, but the Escape Trajectory doesn't go green until I leave Kerbin's SOI, at which point the "Kerbin" component loses the green check mark. Clear as mud? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to leave Kerbin entirely? Like go into a Kerbol orbit?

You need a trajectory that leaves Kerbin without encountering Mun or Minmus along the way. But you still need to be in Kerbin's SOI.

Test the part and burn back down. No need to actually leave Kerbin's SOI. Or even low Kerbin orbit.

Exactly what 5th said.  When you have an orbit track that is no longer closed, and is clear of the Mun and Minmus, you're on an escape trajectory.  I keep doing it accidentally when I'm setting up my nodes to go to Minmus -- only takes a couple hundred or so more m/s than a Minmus intercept.
