Is anyone bothered by the mismatched color textures?

The more I play with the variants on the MH parts, the more I see color discrepancies between parts which I think should probably look a little more uniform.

Here we see an FL-TX440 with the Gray and Orange variant applied, with an FL-TX220 also sporting the Gray and Orange variant under it.  I'm not sure why its Gray and Orange when there is no orange present, but that's another topic.

 

 

To me, these 2 parts should blend in alot better, perhaps looking more like one contiguous part rather than being 2 different shades of gray and having a visible seam between the parts.

 

Here we see an FL-C1000 G&0 on top of an FL-TX220 G&0, on top of an FL-TX440 G&O turned upside down so the gray is on top.  Notice 3 different shades of gray now?

 

 

 

Does this kind of thing bother anyone else, or in general is everyone willing to look past stuff like this?

I always thought the patch work colors were part of the charm of Kerbals.  As to orange, maybe they are partly color bind? ;).  But given the new choices it seems like one of them should be consistent for those who prefer a more orderly space program.

It still fits with the general paint scheme of those varients though, even if the secondary color is not orange.  IIRC, one of the larger diameter tanks is also grey and white instead of grey and orange.  If you look carefully, not all the black and white tanks match 100% either.  I kinda figured that, with the exception of the orange 2.5 meter parts (which are all based on the Shuttle ET), the Black and White was NASA style and the Grey and Orange was Russian Space Program, but those labels just don't fit in the game so they went with the more color based labels.

Doesn't bother me, but most every texture the game's ever had hasn't. I care more that the rockets work than look good.

Maybe this depends on the resolution factor in game settings?

(Half-res (default), Full-Res, and so on).

Say, on another factor value this matches the part edges?

I think the different shades could also be a product of weathering.  Things like that weather in strange ways.
