Am I understanding the Convert-O-Tron 250 wrong?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at the Convert-A-Tron 250, and the description says it converts 0.5 ore to 1.0 monopropellant. I understand this to mean that it yields double the amount of monopropellant as ore. This is a bit better than I expected it to be, is this right?

Ore masses twice as much as fuel per unit, and the Convert-o-tron 250 preserves mass.

This is true for Ore to LF and/or Ox since both weigh 5kg/unit while ore weighs 10kg/unit. But monoprop weighs 4kg/unit so there is a 20% mass loss in the conversion from ore to monoprop.

Dude! Seriously? You brought attention to it. Now they're going to nerf monoprop to utter uselessness. Just because you pointed out that inconsistency. You single handedly have destroyed the playability of KSP. <straight face fail>

Nah. It'll probably just be easier to up the production monoprop by the isru 20%.
