Vivid Sky Box

Is there a way to make the sky box more vivid like in this screenshot. Here I just increased brightness and contrast in gimp.  But I’d like it in game if possible.

I can up the ambient light but that just makes my craft more visible and not the sky box

No I dont think thats possible, because the skybox just uses a texture without any other settings.

It might have to be a mod.  I can indeed increase the brightness and contrast in the nVidia Control panel but a screenshot takes the raw data not the screen data so when  B/C are restored for normal viewing the screenshot looks like those controls were never changed.

You can find a list of skybox things here, just scroll to the bottom of the OP(list is probably incomplete)

It's ok.. I found out exactly how to do it :)

Install Distant Object Enhancement.

The skybox dimming control by default only allows between 0 and 100%, however if you go to the game data folder and into DistantObject and find "settings.cfg" and change  maxBrightness to 2

SkyboxBrightness
{
    changeSkybox = True
    maxBrightness = 2
}

you can "Dim" between 0 and 200%.

Then you have the ingame ambient light boost to enhance your craft if you want it.
