What is RLA_Stockalike?
"Parts to fill stock niches, including 0.625m LFO engines and tanks, a full suite of monopropellant engines ranging from 2.5m to sub-0.625m, brand new 0.625m SRBs, 0.625m high efficiency engines using LiquidFuel, Monopropellant or Xenon, a number of new probe cores with varied specialisations and shapes, more ways to produce electricity, a range of RCSblocks both large and small, and structural parts to glue it all together with."

What is RLA_Continued?
I've been maintaining a set of patches for RLA_Stockalike for a bit now, and I've decided to take the next step and simply integrate the patches with RLA directly, and redistribute everything as a single package. This is said package.

Other Things:
I realize that @hoojiwana is known for taking relatively long absences from KSP, and will no doubt come riding back into town any day now. It goes without saying that when he does so, I will gladly step aside and hand over control of this continuation to him to use as he sees fit. I am very much aware that this is his mod, not mine.

As far as I know, has no knowledge of this continuation; as per license requirement, I cannot and do not claim that he has endorsed these changes, for I have had (despite my best efforts) no contact with him.

Credits:

@hoojiwana is the original creator of RLA_Stockalike.

@Deimos Rast made significant changes

Installation Instruction:
- Please uninstall all previous versions prior to updating RLA to the latest version.
- Place RLA_Reborn folder into GameData directory.
- Has no dependencies (Module Manager is optional)

@linuxgurugamer,

I still find it amazing, how you manage to keep that plethora of mods alive and kicking for the enjoyment of all of us. Thanks for this.

Especially thanks for maintaining this mod, since it adds a couple of parts that are immensely useful.

Regards,

Sebastian

I work on one or two at a time, so I don't get overloaded.  Means that sometimes there is a delay responding or fixing a bug.

Weird thing I noticed with these parts.

The manufacturer isn't RLA like it was in the older/original version of this mod.

Though I've been noticing that with a lot of parts recently (perhaps has to do with module-manager changes?)..

regardless thanks for updating this mod

Ok, you've said what it isn't, can you tell me what it is?

I've examined all the files, and the manufacturer on all of them is the same as it was in the original version of the mod

Wait you're right, derp, I'm sorry.

I was seeing STAEDLER and Protobyne, etc. when I was thinking It had (when I last used RLA, a long time ago) been "Roemy-Lemdum Atomics", I'm not sure why (maybe Hoojiwana used that in some of his older mods, I can't say).

As a note, the RLA agency needs fixing to display properly. It's a low priority, and I might take a look at it if I feel the need to do something productive.

What's wrong with it?

edit:  Missing the title, I'll fix and release

I've been using this mod for three years and I just now realized that I have no idea what RLA stands for.

None of the readmes ever said.

Thanks for making me feel really weird, RLA.

Roemy Lemdon Astronautics or something like that.

Sounds like a mod name. I will officially take your word for it.

Did you mean: Rory Lemon Astronautics?

...yeah, I'll definitely just be taking your word for it on this one.

Thanks, dogstar.

Roemy-Lemdum Atomics, according to the Agents.cfg file.

Many of us don't bother finding out what an acronym stood for.  Many times acronyms are just mostly arbitrary cool sounding names.

Hello... I'm new here... so if this is answered somewhere else, by all means point me in the right direction :)  But my question is, are all the engines in this mod assigned to the stock techtree in career mode?  I always really dig having those pieces be somewhat closed off when I first get the mod.

I've just had a check in the config for a couple of the parts and they appear to be set to display at reasonable points during career/science mode progression, so you need not be worried about getting overwhelmed with excessively high tech in a fresh game. There's always a chance you won't agree on the exact placement, but you can always go in and tweak them later.

In general, I've found that mod makers are very good with this kind of thing, and on the odd occasion where definitions aren't included as standard, other users will write patches later to "fix" it.

Sweet!!! Thanks for the timely response.  It's definitely a breath of fresh air getting on a forum with people that are respectful and are SUPER detail-oriented.  I'm relatively new to KSP, only been playing for a couple months and I'm blown away about all the outside development this game has seen.

But alas, I will probably go give this mod a try!  I'm loving using mods, but I also what the keep the game as "virgin" as I can without completely overhauling the main fabric of the game.

Good luck on the virginity of the game.  IMHO, it's the mods which keep this game going

and welcome

I'm slowly starting to realize this... I guess what i should have said was that I didn't want to ramp the use of mods so much that I get lost in all the stuff I put in it.  But yeah, no harm in throwing some mods in there to keep things interesting!

Get KerbalEngineer and Kerbal Alarm Clock as early mods.
