No icon and NRE for few items in R&D

I'm on the newest version of the game on GOG, WIN7 64bit, no mods. In career or science game when I enter R&D, choose Fuel Systems and hoover over Rockomax Fuel Tanks, there is no picture (usually a picture of previously viewed item or an empty spot) and NRE in the log. It looks like this happens for all items with default changing textures ability. No such problem in VAB.

Looks like you got some missing folders and files there. 

Probably backup saves, wipe and reinstall. Not much else I can think of.
