Unfortunately, as I find mods with parts I like, I actually have a tendency to rebuild them often. Here's a checklist I've developed whenever I decide to make a new one: What is the station's purpose? Is it a way-station for later expeditions further out from Kerbin? Is it for orbital science? Is it a place to build larger ships in space? How many vessels will be able to dock with it at once? What size crew will it have? How will I evacuate the crew? Sometimes I wish I could be satisfied playing a vanilla game. Oh, not really. As I do not want to influence your station's design. But here are some things I've learned that, well, I'd not recommend trying: My largest station once could handle fifteen craft at one time. This was causing major lag in the game - especially since I had 20 docking ports (5 of them were for emergency escape pods). The more docking ports you have, the more the game seems to stall. Watch artificial lighting. Too many lights can also cause buggy or choppy performance. More colors can also hurt your performance. adsii1970 Posted August 10, 2018 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Ah, Ok... I play the PC version. But here's the parts you'll need. Start with the command pod that fits the 3 Kerbals. This will be the command pod and root part for the thing you're making. Parachute for the command pod goes on top. Heat shield for the command pod goes on the bottom. Decoupler - same diameter as the heat shield and the command pod. Crew tube or structural fuselage. Yeah, I like the appearance of Kerbals being able to actually move from the station to the escape pod... Make sure to "push" it through the decoupling ring and rest it against the heat shield. this gives it all a nice appearance. Mono propellant tanks (4) Mono Propellant engines which are throttle based, not the RCS engines for fine tuning moves. the Sepratron solid rocket motors and a docking port at the end of the crew tube. Then all you do is to put it on a docking port on your station. Once a Kerman crew is inside it, you can decouple it, then use the RCS and Separatron to give you distance between your crew and whatever you are evacuating. Then use the mono propellant motors to put you into a sub-orbital trajectory. Once you've begun reentering the atmosphere, decouple the "drive" unit and use the capsule as you normally would.
