Ground base construction: should I fix it to the surface?

Anchoring a base to the ground (KAS/KIS) will probably solve the problem of jumping bases, i guess, but I'm also afraid that it has the potential for even worse breakage. Should I?

Generally, are there any established best practices? I'll be using KAS to join the parts together, thus bypassing all the problems of lining up docking ports and such. I'll also be building on perfectly level ground (think Minmus Flats, but on Duna -- thanks, Kopernicus!). My main concern is that the base might come apart when I leave it and come back -- is this a problem and if so, are there ways to avoid it or to mitigate the damage?

The MKS mod has parts that will anchor themselves to the surface and I've found that to be a good solution for bases not moving around.
