This is great. I got a idea: could we as community all land a rocket with this plate on the Mun and post screens.

Collect all screens into one big collection and show the world how much the ksp community loved Armstrong.

What you think?

Edit: Here's my contribution. In honour of Neil Armstrong.

Well, I'm not so sure he would have been able to walk on the moon had he not been using performance enhancing drugs. And as you may have read, he dropped his appeal and is by default, guilty.

What does this have to do with my Memorial Plaque? Are you trying to insult me?

Wrong Armstrong. That's Lance Armstrong, not Neil. Lance never went to the Moon.

In the foreground, Mun Station "Eagle II", landed at Tranquility Base, Mun 00°41′15″N, 23°26′00″E, illuminates the Neil Armstrong Memorial Lander.

Flown and landed by Jebediah Kerman, the Memorial Lander stands ready for any emergency. The empty pod, fully fueled and ready for ascent, stands vigil over the base, in honor of those who have come before. The golden Neil Armstrong Memorial Plaque is visible just below the pod's hatch on the Memorial, to the left of the extended ladder.

I think a memorial should be added officially into KSP, even if its just a Kerbal sized statue with a plaque stating something like:

Neil Armstrong

05.08.1930 - 35.08.2012

Maybe have Buzz and Michael Collins standing there too, or soemthing to that effect.

Nova is adding one.

"In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood."

Anyone care to make a plaque with that text?

This plaque now stands with the landing stage of a (successful) resuce mission to the Mün as a continuing memorial to the bravery of all those explorers who risk their lives to further our species and take us all to the stars.
