@Radar The space shuttle system for DECQ, the solid rocket boosters don't look the same.  Also, I have a lot of gltiches with DECQ's space shuttle.  I love this space shuttle but the SRBs?

@Abhi K. So when I put this together, the SRB's didn't work for me, they had flickering textures. I resorted to using another booster instead. @DylanSemrau has kindly made it work with the latest version by adding the rocket back in. Check with him on where it's at. I'm waiting for KSP 2 so I'm not really looking to keep updating this version.

@Radar Ok, but can you tell DECQ to update his current shuttle? There's countless glitches such as no plume showing, nose landing gear won't retract, rear landing gear dosen't appear, I cannot change the textures to Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, or Endevour.  I did install all of the dependencies but thats what I got.

DECQ has left the modding scene so no updates from him anymore

I've gotten everything from his mod to function in the more recent versions, there's still some issues that need to be worked out but you can give it a try: https://github.com/DylanSemrau/Space-Shuttle-System

B9 Part Switch and KSPWheel are the only two dependencies

@DylanSemrau Nice system, but I have few problems.

SRB Decouplers won't attach to the external tank

The external tank dosen't provide the correct fuel for the SSME.

oh is this a non RSS/RO install? I've done little to know testing without realism overhaul so there might be some thing

try installing Community Resource Pack and see if that helps

@DylanSemrauThe fuel that was supposed to be provided is Hydrogen.

I am physically unable to update it, even if I really wanted to.

Files in Blender and Unity deleted.

This thread is created as per the request of DECQ (see here). First things first, I'd like to thank him and those involved for releasing the Space Shuttle System. I know many Shuttles have been released over the years and many people I'm sure, including myself have resorted to making changes to make the Shuttle mod work or to bring it up to the latest version of the game.

None of the models used are mine, all credit goes to those who put this together in the first place. What I did do is make changes to the .cfg files to make it work with the latest version of KSP and to also use as little additional mods as possible for those first timers of the game. I've also been working in much the same way as the Shuttle, with combining parts to build the International Space Station. This will be released in the not to distant future and will complement this Shuttle release nicely.

As it says in the title, this works with KSP 1.4.5. The Zip is complete with the KSPWheel mod (latest version), JSI (latest version) & SSTU (which is included in the SpaceShuttle folder). These are required for various reasons. For the Cockpit to work currently, you will need the ASET mod. Plans are to replace this cockpit used with the Ultimate Shuttle IVA by G'th.

In the ZIP file you will find a folder called SpaceShuttle, it doesn't override the one from Space Shuttle System for those who prefer that version over this version. This version only comes with the Discovery skin (no option to change the skin unless you replace the DDS file) and completely stock fuels, it's in no way meant to be realistic so you can say it's been Kerbalised basically. As I said, I changed the .cfg files to make it easier to 'glide' upon re-entry using as little extra mods as possible for those who just want to keep it simple and enjoy the game. If you plan on using this Shuttle as a plane to take off from the airfield then the nose will stick up due to the extra fuel weight in the rear however I doubt this will be the case if doing a proper launch, orbit and then re-entry.

TAGS are included for all the parts in this release. Type Shuttle to show all parts.

Included in the Zip is the craft file under the save folder for those who just want to add cargo and launch. I've included 2x nodes in the cargo bay to add a winch at either end if using the KAS mod.

Enjoy.

For those who want to use RSS. Thank you to Trickzie for these config files.

Here is a link to the download for anyone who wants to use RSS.

((There is a small imbalance in MMH+NTO usage in OMS engine - Working on a permanent fix ))

RSS 1.4.1 Version download

Do bare in mind, this patch WILL replace values such as: Fuel > Mass > Tolorance > Fueltypes > Rescaling.

So using it will resault in a bigger shuttle. It would be a good idea to resize your stations or whatever u have in mind, so it will be usable :).

For those who want to use 1.3.1 version. Thank you to Slaintmaith for his files.

Here is a link to the download for anyone who wants to use 1.3.1

The RSS-RO friendly version is here:

For the latest version modified by Brisco to use with 1.7.x version. Thank you to Brisco for his files.

Here is a link to the download for anyone who wants to use the latest version.

Changes include modified Side Boosters.

Latest version with modified Side Boosters

Glad to see this mod, as cursed as it is, having passed hands more than any other mod i know of, still continues to live.  One question, does the shuttle have remotetech compatibility still, or no?

Are you intending to carry the shuttle over to ksp2 when it comes out?

@Sampa  No, completely rebuilt from scratch, I've already started it, however I don't want to get too far ahead of myself due to the lack of info coming in for the modding part of KSP 2. Also, with links recently for the KSP 1 game with ESA, is KSP 2 likely to be released with a NASA link (I'm sure everyone would love that).

So for now, I have the Shuttle model done but without textures, and with various empty objects in place for such things as cameras, moving parts, etc etc. So  until then, it's on my hard drive in a 3ds Max state.

not sure if you have the same issue, but I downloaded and tried the shuttle, and it is totally missing many major pieces, including the main orbiter cockpit.  Just as a heads up.

I haven't had this happen before and I don't believe anyone has reported it yet, so most likely an issue on your end. Could you pm me your log and we can start there maybe?

Ok, so, tried to send you a DM with my log, but it refused to send.  However, I did find the B9 Part switch, despite being the most up to date version, is announcing problems at start up, so, wondering if that might be the source of the issue...

found two semi-important functional problems, but they could easily be minor issues.  the shuttle, at least while Mechjeb is controling it, is a bit rough at launch.  also, It does not seem to have enough fuel in the OMS to do much on orbit manuevers, but I think I can probably make some adjustments(since I need it for going to my ISS Replica

However, would it be possible to get a fix to get the shuttle to function with AlphaMensae's Modular Launch Pad mod? @DylanSemrau
