And as far as picking people to go on this ride, how about choosing six people from around the world from the most non-advanced, uncivilized, remotest populations that exist?

Within the same "artist" sensibility, this might be interesting. You'd get the most transformative bang for the buck.

This has been discussed everywhere, for ages, and is pretty much common knowledge at this point - or so I would think.

And from that article, "April is Mathematics Awareness Month, and this year's theme is Mathematics and Art.", KSP being what it is, someone could take that and run with it.

https://www.theguardian.com/science/alexs-adventures-in-numberland/2015/dec/02/why-the-history-of-maths-is-also-the-history-of-art

And of course (last on the list),

Let's throw this in as well...

All good links and I thank you. And yes I'm aware that there are links between mathematics and art - I gave one example myself. What I was objecting to was the statement that without mathematics and science there would be no art. I believe that is an exaggeration and I'm not seeing anything in those example articles to persuade me otherwise.

All the more so if you generalise 'art' to 'the arts' and include things like poetry and literature as well as the visual arts. But as a concrete example, show me the mathematics in that Basquiat painting that @tater linked?

So, would that be these folks, or flat-earthers?

Yes, one of them would do just fine. There are others as well around this world. As for flat-Earthers?... to convince just one of them would turn the rest of the lot against him... the only solution is to send all of them.......... and leave them out there.

I'm not here to persuade your beliefs. If you object, so be it. What I see and read of art, science, and math, tells me different.

As for the paintings @tater has posted... what can I say? There's no accounting for taste..... or for some people's math.

Well I was willing to be persuaded but okay. Thanks for the conversation - and I mean that seriously.

Of course! We could bring some laptops and be the first people to play a video-game beyond Earth's atmosphere! xD

Unfortunately it's been done:

Dan Barry took Starcraft to space.

Which is awesome.

I would say it's pretty much mandatory!!!  :D

I'd agree there... playing KSP while actually IN SPACE sounds like about the coolest thing that anyone would have done since actually setting foot on the moon.
