Centre of Mass on Parts.

My craft has off-centre thrust and I need to correct this.
When adjusting the the position of parts using the 3 arrows, do those arrows come from the centre of mass of the part?

The answer is, yes they do.

My question now is what is causing my ship to rotate.  The thrust is central but the ship spins along it's axis.  I am using 4 Aerospikes and snapped to symmetry so even though they have no vectoring they should thrust straight.  Perhaps I need to change the engines though.

Hard to tell without seeing the design in question.

It was largely rhetorical though I was installing OBS to record some video ( it's the MostlyVersalLander that can be seen in my going mostlywhere thread in mission reports ).  I have been rebuilding it however and so far it seems more stable.  I'm sure it's just minor offset and rotation errors compounding on each other.
