Monako: a tighter and slower circuit with plenty of low-speed cornering. (about 1:00)

Nice, and Northloop looks good too.

I'll do some testlaps on Monka and try to record a descent lap for youtube.

So I'm testing Monka, it's a bit confusing in the beginning finding the gates, maybe that can be improved.

Once you know your way it's a nice track, a bit harder than the Kerbal -1 race but fun to drive.

Here is my testlap, I need practice...

A lap of Monka using my still unnamed car

How do you get glued to the road like that ?

I could never beat that . . . :o

I did set a new personal record on the Kerbal One.

I have doubled tires so technically I have 8 wheels, a fairly wide wheelbase, very low CoM, but the main thing is I tweaked the friction and lots of downforce (it tops out at 65 m/s with two Junos at full thrust because of the downforce and drag). I had a previous setup that could corner harder at high speed but it oversteered at lower speeds, this setup is very balanced I'm pretty happy with it.

Once you've got all these things, it's a lot of tweaking. Launching, going around the KSC and back to SPH for slight tweaks and trying new things.

It's stock so I can upload the craft file if you want to take a closer look at it.

Yes please, I'd love to take a closer look at that.

I know about the tweaking, it's half the fun.

Allthough I do forget to make a backup sometimes . . .

I'm really struggling for grip, but I do like very fast racing.

I found this btw:

There. Currently working on Mk8 with less weight and reworked chassis.

Edit: slam full throttle, wait for engines to spool up, then simply accelerate with W, brake with B and turn with SD. Releasing W cuts the throttle so you don't have to worry about that. 2 deploys DRS but I wouldn't advice using it since it makes the car quite unstable.

Of course I forgot the link

Thanks, are you dutch btw ? Your name sounds Dutch.

Not Dutch, I'm from the country on the other side of Belgium. My username sounds weird it wasn't supposed to stay but I sort of kept it when I couldn't be bothered changing it.

Edit: I've added instructions on how to use the car in the post above.

Ok. first impression of the MK7, you don't just get in and drive . . .

It's an amazing design, I can't get even close to that level.

I wonder if you will have competition when the challenge start, and I hope nobody will run away screaming after seeing your car in action.

Lol, it even has DRS, are you a hardcore F-1 fan ?

I used to be, I loved the years Kimi fought Montoya, legendary to me.

O, btw, can you upload Monako and Northloop ?

Added instructions.

Hi im new here

Just wondering, can i use the mod to make a le mans race?

Im thinking of making track from ksc to the other side of the continent and back

You should be able to. I recently set up a race that was about 30km long, with gates only about every 5km.

F1 fans... Yay. Go Leclerc!

Anyone got any low part count F1 cars? Or tips to make one?

As being Dutch : GO MAX !

I can't give you any tips, I don't even know where to start building a F-1 car in ksp.

You can, but remember that once you start a race, you have to finish it in one go, I don't believe you can save during a race, but I might be wrong...

Now this is right up my alley. I've made plenty of cars and have come up with a few race tracks as well. As far as restrictions go I'd allow only juno engines to be used since for a car it's just the most practical solution. Boost flaps should be a requirement as well. I wouldn't put any restrictions on weight since in some cases extra weight may be necessary to prevent a car from flipping over. You could put a restriction on top speed. that would force builders to not use too many engines and have a good bit of downforce.

Here's an older track I don't use anymore. It consist mostly of high speed corners and isn't really difficult to get the hang of.

This is the largest track I've created, I call the Kurburgring. It's kind of tricky to get used to and demands lots grip and a good turn-in at low speeds for a fast lap.

This is the track I currently use to test my cars. It's got a good balance of low and high speed corners. It's also not too hard to drive fast on it.

Yeah, @He_162 and I were competing with each other for a bit and ended up spawning
the Kurburgring lap challenge.

@LABenterprises I have set up your last track using the Races! mod, I used big and small gates.

I will upload it later.

Do you have a name for the track ?

Yes I do. The L.A.B. Test Track 3.0

Now you can time your rounds.

We are getting in some good tracks, good.

I think I will put in a different categorie for electric and jet engined cars.

To be honest I prefer electric driven cars without wings, but your work (and @Gaarst

@Vanamonde I have the same problem again, can't post text after pinging Gaarst . . .

Edit:

. . .  is amazing !

If you have any questions about the mod let me know, thanks for the tracks.
