How to run 32-bit KSP WITHOUT STEAM?

Recommended Posts

I've downloaded KSP, but my computer is 32-bit. I don't want to make my OS 64-bit. I want the 32-bit version of KSP.

Some other people has wanted 32-bit KSP, but sadly, I don't use Steam.

At my KSP folder (where all the KSP files and stuff is located), I can't seem to find the program called "KSP.exe". I only found "KSP_64.exe". How do I run it in 32-bit?

PLEASE HELP!

I am using version 1.5: Dressed for Success, if you need the information.

...why?

If your hardware is 64 bit, I can't think of a single reason to run a 32 bit OS...

If your hardware is 32 bit, then yes, you're going to need an older version.

Device drivers for old devices that doesn't exist or are bugged in the 64 bits.

And memory footprint, as 64 bits programs usually needs twice the memory for data-structures (since everything, from ints to pointers, are 64 bits now). But, frankly, this doesn't applies to KSP…. :P

I have a Core 2 Duo...

And no external GPUs(lol)

I have 4GB of RAM, but it makes Windows buggy if I turn it 64-bit.

I think I'm the poorest person who own a computer...

Well, you can't "turn it 64 bit"  There's no switch.  It would require a full install of the OS.

With that hardware, I would suggest trying out a lightweight Linux distribution instead of Windows.  Should be able to run 64bit smoother than XP if you're having issues (Oh how I do hope you're running XP) and use much less memory.  Lubuntu would be a good start.

So, to answer this guys question.....

Go into your KSP Store account, login, go to the downloads page, pick 1.4.5 and download that.   That is the last KSP version that supports 32bit.

Doing that will be much easier than installing a new OS.

I don't know how it works on GoG though.

I know about that. I just want to make it simple.

I use Windows 7 SP1, by the way.

(I kind of like XP...)

Also, I'm too lazy to wait for Windows to install, update drivers, etc.

THANK YOU!!

Now that I have found a solution, I can try that solution!

Oh yeah, I already have the 1.4.5 version.

Just need one more thing...

THAT VERSION (which I already had) doesn't have the file named "KSP.exe", instead, "KSP_x64.exe".

Hmm, maybe an even older one?

Can anyone help?

I'm checking now, but I believe there are two downloads in the store, one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit.     Yes, there is a link for Win (x86) and a link for Win (x64).   Make sure you download the 1.4.5 x86 version.
