I've been kind of active on these forums for a few years, why am I still ranked a "bottle rocketeer"? How does that rank system work?

If you never manually specify a "rank" yourself, then it automatically assigns one (e.g. "Bottle Rocketeer") based simply on how many posts you've made.  That's your current "auto-rank" based on your current post count.

But, you're free to manually edit it to be whatever you want, per the nice illustration already posted here.  So you can call yourself pretty much whatever you want.

I'd be interested to see a full list of the auto generated titles and their post count requirements.

I've been a "Capsule Communicator" for forever it seems, I'm pretty sure it must be the last title?

No, there's a "Flight Director" rank at 3000 posts.

I believe it tops out at Flight Director.
