edit craft description outside of game?

So...I'm really lazy and have a lot of mods, I'm not really interested in waiting for the game to load up and then have to type a craft description instead of copy/pasting (note: I haven't actually tried this yet.) Is there any way I can edit the description outside of the game, just to save me that little bit o' time?

Yes.

1. open the .craft file in something like notepad.

2. Edit as desired.

3. save.

4. ???

5. Profit.

 

You can use other software, but you have to remember that you need to save it as raw text or ascii.

@Twitchy115, KSP is pretty good in this respect.  Any text editor can be used to modify:

*.sfs - This is your game save file.

(WARNING! DANGER WILL ROBINSON. ALWAYS back up this file BEFORE editing. You have been warned.)

*.craft - These are the discombobulated vessel.

(Again, back up before editing. They are easy to combobulate.)

*.cfg - These are the parts files.

("A little tweak here. A little tweak there." is NOT a recommended strategy for these. HINT: discover the wonder that is ModuleManager.)
