Electric propeller parts

Recommended Posts

Comes in several varieties including aquatic and electric ducted fan. Used for exploring other worlds where there is an atmosphere but no oxygen. Comparable to wheels in energy efficiency.

Size varies from tiny 1 kN thrusters to giant power-hungry engines with static thrust outputs of hundreds of kN that need similarly gigantic power sources. (I.e. multiple of the larger fuel cells).

I second this suggestion. I have tried to copy several designs for stock electric propellers, but they never work. Might be a Mac problem.

Oh well they're not necessarily that difficult for me (I usually use linear RCS ports inside a cage of thermometers as the bearing), but they do take a lot of parts and obviously have to decouple from the craft, which means the prop shaft has to provide the power in electric designs, whereas in turbo designs, jet thrust provides the power.
