What are those issues? The biggest one must be CPU bottleneck caused by high part count. But I wonder what are other issue(s)?

How the terrain is drawn is another big issue. KSP has real problems when trying to draw ocean planets.

Another might be not using archaic shaders. Using more modern shaders (and not being tethered to directX9) can allow for better performance in some cases. For instance, when you have multiple copies of the same exact part on screen there are ways to get better performance using shaders (essentially telling the GPU what to draw only once, instead of having to tell it for each separate instance of the same part).

I don't know of SR2 does any of that, but those are certainly areas where it could do better than KSP.

And if they are planning on releasing essentially the same version of the game on mobile then they will have to be much more lean when it comes to garbage allocation and draw calls. That kind of optimization carries over to the desktop, too.

They updated SR2 just last night to include rudimentary dV and TWR displays in the rocket builder. You can't see it in flight right now but I'd not be surprised if it was next.

Also, the first official mod just came out and it too shows dV. The mod is called "Simple Engineer" and it's looking to try to do KER in Simple Rockets.

Yes that is very handy indeed.

I would appreciate it if they added some sort of vab. Being used to building in ksp this does not give me any reference for size..

Otherwise i think it's a good game:)

I have to say, this game looks realy impressive for a game that just 1 year in development. This is a achievement which should be rewarded. The only ting I don't like about Simple Rockets is its name.

As a fan of KSP, I didn't expect SR2 would be able to do anything as a same level as that.

But after checking the game and the community, I have to say, it's impressive! And the community really make this game better, I mean, look at these crafts and the images from  SimpleRocket.com made by the community...

Ps: I don't own any of these crafts. These were made by the SR2 players.60161295_360470771256646_585527174862209

Is there no in-game tutorial for this like in Simple Planes, or am I just missing something?  If not, who would be the best? It is fairly similar, but there are a few things around the interface that were messing me up.

EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.

I picked it up in the summer sale and just built a Falcon Heavy style rocket to do the "Satellite Rendezvous" challenge as an intro. Took a few tries to figure out staging, the map view, target relative velocity, etc., but in the end the mission went much as it would have in KSP (except the initial close approach was further than 0.0 km, and without RCS).

I found that I repeatedly clicked on the navigation UI (the big rings around the ship) by accident when trying to move the camera, and once clicked, there's no way to cancel the action (or if there is, I didn't find it). So my rocket ended up doing a lot of unintentional orientation changes. Then I found myself trying to get the rings out of the way by zooming out with the mouse wheel, but that only zooms the ship, leaving the rings exactly the same size.

Overall I'm impressed, but I'd take WASD and a navball in a heartbeat.

Yeah I had that problem as well.

I say "had" not because I solved it, but because I stopped playing because of it :)
