Electrical Jet Engines

Have you ever noticed that on Eve the atmosphere is extremely thick but it doesn't work with jet engines because of the composition?

 Maybe we don't need propellers, but instead we need electric engines for atmospheric flight.

Which is basically a form of propeller, a ducted fan.

Definitely.

Don't mind the 1.4.5 version in the title. I tested it on 1.5.1 successfully.

The thickness of the atmosphere actually gives 'jet' engines more material to work with. But you can end up with the inverse problem of rocket engines where you could get too much thrust, and have an engine detach from your craft Wile E Coyote style.

If you prefer something that was actually thought-of by real world scientists, try Atomic Age.

This looks closer to an electric jet engine.

Some aerospace companies are mainly focused on electric planes which currently is almost impossible in ksp.

Yeah, but there are differences between turboprop engines and electrical jet engines. Both should probably be added though.

How do you make an electrical jet engine? heating air would be very inefficient. In practice its an ducted fan

Purposely, large scale EDFs would be overpowered, so using a lot of electricity is key to not making another superpower like the nuclear engine.

Yes best would be to use an propeller or an turbofan with an electrical engine rater than an jet engine. 
I would go for an propeller, you will use this for puddle jumpers mostly, its easy to just use multiple smaller engines, say 4, add four batteries and power supplies but interconnected.
Now you have an very reliable engine system as long as maintained. 
You might also want to stow some propellers during cruise. 
Another fun idea would be an hybrid plane with one jet engine and two propellers. Propellers takeoff and you can do this very silent if you don't need the jet at all or just idle it. 
jet engine will have to step in at cruise to charge the batteries on an longer trip or simply as you only have one jet engine so you need battery power to land if it fails. 
Lots of flexibility here.
