1 Year....

Today I was checking out my steam and I saw that KSP was downloaded exactly 1 year ago today!  (my first forum post says I started playing in April but that's a lie...)

Wooooo!

Anyways, it got me thinking, what have I even done? I mean my 'Finest Hour' was landing on Eeloo and building an orbital refueling station there with the mod Kerbol Star Systems, so basically I built an inter-galactic gas station.

My biggest face palm is when I accidentally broke a solar panel on a space station. Doesn't seem bad but just so happens that I had two space stations at the time...who were going to intersect. Long story short a bunch of debris exploded one of my stations....

But, I need something more impressive. Any ideas? (particularly on RSS, because stock isn't very hard....)

RSS Grand Tour

Spend your next year doing it.

Good luck. LMao

I accidentally left my tab open and I didn't realize it had a sound effect for notifications, and I just crapped myself.

Also, I don't know the correct transfer because Voyager 2 (the one on the grand tour) was launched at a specific time where the planets align every 175 years and so it could visit the gas giants...

that's a lot of work but I mean I'll try lol

Maybe you should not just play in RSS, but install the full RO suite! I've never tried it but it certainly seems interesting.

And I'm approaching my 1-year KSP anniversary too - it's on the 25 of December :D

Already playing with RO, I mean, RSS without RO is pretty difficult, because the engines ISPs and TWR, etc. are all goofy and off portion. But I mean, it also provides challenges like having to ullage your fuel.

Yeah, and engines have limited numbers of restarts.

I don't think I'm a hardcore enough KSP player to play with RO. It's interesting and I've watched a ton of videos on it, but for me it's too realistic and that sucks some of the fun out of it.

Meh. Stock KSP is really fun for wacky missions, such as refueling bases on Minmus or playing KSS and having a orbital gas station on Eeloo so you can get to the next galaxy.

RSS Is more for challenging yourself, like the most impressive I've done is do a semi-grand tour (which took me 2 days) and visit Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. I even left a little probe on Titan!

Whirligig World is a mod which puts an interesting “spin” on the game. It does make mit quite a bit harder, as you need to develop completely new means of reaching orbit and, most importantly, getting home safely. I have been having a great deal of fun with this mod of late, and you can get it here, if you don’t know of it already:

Of course, the key issue that some may have with this is that it is quite unrealistic, in which case rss is the indispensable mod, but I suppose that there is something to suit everyone’s tastes.
