Cupola needs a rework for realism and balance.

As of now, it is ridiculously large compared in scale with the other parts.  Unlike any other KSP part, it is almost the same size of its real life counterpart(2.5 m in game vs 3m on the ISS)

The current module should be changed to accommodate 2 kerbals, as it is used in many designs and fulfills a purpose in the stock lineup, in addition, a 1.25 or 1.875 m capsule for 1 kerbal should be added to the game.  This would allow much more flexibility in stations with viewing modules able to be added to the sides of 2.5m station modules, in addition to being realistic.

You can wait for Squad to do it or you can just install a mod - USI-LS has a couple, Near Future Technologies  Stockalike Station Parts Redux also has at least one.

Actually I believe Stockalike Station Parts Expansion has a 1.25m Cupola.

I'd just reduce the mass of it a bit and add a 1.25m version. It's not that big a deal that it's a little odd with stats considering its purpose is primarily asthetic.
