Around Kerbin in 80 days - Triop's adventure, a live blog.

This is something I wanted to do for a long time now: Drive all around Kerbin in a stock buggy.

To prepare this rally I've used the Kerbal Konstructs mod and placed 7 bridges needed to complete the route.

For this challenge I will use a hybrid buggy, so refueling will become a thing.

Like in my Pole2Pole challenge I will allow a new buggy to be flown in as a replacement when I break down.

The buggy:

Neat. Have you made any tweaks to the wheel settings?

Nope, all original, top speed 35 m/s.

It's crap really, but that makes it more fun, no ?

I do have the Wheelsounds mod so driving will not be so boringly quiet, and the KAS mod for refueling.

I just removed Vesselmover now and I'm ready to go.

The first part will be driving to the first bridge:

3 days already past, so I have 77 days left. ^_^

We are setting up a rescue mission, it's no big deal, Pole2Pole had a bad start and we still made it.

I've installed the KIS mod and are about to send out our service truck with suplies.

I have no idea how KIS works so this wil be fun . . . I hope.

Good idea to use bridges instead of ferries. :) One tip: Drive slowly and safely.

Yes, using bridges means every inch, meter whatever needs to be drivin.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try . . .

Hey there, @Triop!  Just getting back into KSP and what do I see.... :)

I still remember the challenges you had during your Temple Expedition, where you had a ferry for crossing the ocean between KSC and the Temple.

Looks like you've gone one step beyond.  Well, looks like there's no risk of ferries deciding they can fly....

Of course, you now can have a rover go off a bridge.  Does the rover float?

Or is that yet to be determined? :)

I hope it doesn''t have to float.

Started driving again, it's dark and boring.

Still on all four wheels, that's good.

And I'm out of likes already.  :)  Looking forward to what mishaps adventures you get up to.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it.

I can really use some support from readers, I still have a long way to go . . . &)

The buggy is better then I expected, I had some 2 wheeled moments but it sticks to the ground real good.

It's a bit boring without rescue operations, but I'm not intending on flipping the buggy for entertainment.

All shout outs are welcome !

Couple of suggestions.  Keep posting good pictures in the "What did you do in KSP today?" (which I've seen you've done), good as in "interesting". :)  As well, I see that your signature is partly cut off on my 1080p screen.  The links still work but the cuttoff graphic draws less attention.  Perhaps a coloured quote like "I'm driving a rover around Kerbin in 80 days.  Despite breakdowns and crashes and the odd driving off cliffs and bridges."
