Kirk Douglas was the captain of the USS Nimitz in the move The Final Countdown, among many, many others.  My wife & I just watched it the other night.

He had a long, productive and meaningful life

RIP

So true lgg! He was an awesome actor, served on a sub chaser in the US Navy in WWII and made some great movies and someone I always admired. I think we all do. He had a stroke in the late 90's (something I know about) and survived that in an amazing way.

And he was Spartacus and could kill nasty robots too!  - - - RIP

This one.  I saw the Fury while still being a child, and it really marked me.

My dad loved Black Sheep Squadron, used to watch it with him all the time. Yeah, rough week.

I watched Black Sheep Squadron a few times. I never realised that all the women in WW2 looked like supermodels!

A good read, if you can find it, is 'The Starship and the Canoe'.  It tells the story of Freeman Dyson and his son George, and the totally different life that the two of them  traveled

.

Without his project both this forum and projectrho would never be so great even close.

I am at the upper age limit to get this.

To those of you in a younger generation. Stay home, play KSP and be aware you could bring it to your parents or older folks if you go out. :/

Yeah, I'll echo that...
