Question for Content creators

I'vebeen playing off and on for some time now, streamed the game, and just messed around since.. God.. I don't even know.. Anyway, I thought I might start a video series, but I had a serious question for you creators out there.. logistically, how do you do it? Like.. I just recorded about.. eh.. 8ish hours of footage and plan on editing it down to 30 min episodes and narrate over the cuts.. is that the best way?

Actually that's the last very pair of steps, the recording and editing. How much time have you got budgeted for planning and writing each video? I heard somewhere that  fifteen minutes spent planning a shoot saved an hour of shooting time and thirty minutes of editing time.

Sure there are those that can get away with out doing it for a whole series; shoot the whole thing in one take with out any prep work. But, they are on the edges of the trifecta of luck, skill, and experience. They have maxed two at the expense of the other.

I'm with steuben,  even though all i do is mod test videos, and demos, its very rare to get everything to happen just as you expect it to. If it's any more complicated than flying a single ship to orbit( most of mine involve interactions between several craft)  it usually takes at least a couple of runs before i'm happy with the result, and the amount of video published pales in comparison to the amount recorded
