@Triop The submissions above will not be counted for the challenge sice they are replicas, not original designe. Plus they seem to use mods, which is, sadly, not an option for me.

(content merged...)

@Cyrus Playz please use the template provided in the first post, it will make it easie for me when I make a video about it.

Contract #009
Generation 1
Panzerknoef/Zircon Aerospace
Zircon DF-10 "Hekla"
The Hekla is an early attempt at producing an aircraft capable of supersonic flight. It is equipped with 2 afterburning engines, capable of thrusting the plane forwards up to speeds as high as mach 1.1. These speeds are reached at altitudes over 5000m, lower than that is still capable of reaching speeds in excess of 1000km/h. On top of this, we've also made sure the aircraft would be capable of being used by the navy. It features flaps for a boost in lift and an arresting hook. On top of that you can use the afterburners to accelerate even faster. Thanks to the excess of wing surface, the DF-10 only needs a very short runway to take off and land. Armament consists of 4 machine guns mounted in the nose. On top of that it has 6 missiles mounted under the wings.

ERA-Mk1

Contract No. 002
Generation 2
(Created by Kestrel)

The Emergency Response Aircraft-Mk1 was designed in the early 1960s to serve as a countermeasure towards nuclear attack, be it in the form of ballistic missiles or bombers. As such, its primary design goals are speed and acceleration to intercept and destroy targets well before impact - the ERA can go from standing still on the runway to its cruise altitude of fifteen thousand metres in just over two minutes. Its use of two engines, one above the other, gives it an immense thrust-to-weight ratio, and allows for vertical climbs and rapid bursts of speed.  Additionally, in tandem with a powerful cannon mounted below the cockpit, the ERA has four attachment points for missiles or rockets. However, its fuel consumption limits its range to just above 1200km or around 650 nautical miles.

In spite of its limited range, the ERA has performed exceptionally in mock 'nuclear strike'  scenarios,  earning the nickname "Try Again Another Day" from its pilots.

@panzerknoef, that DF-10 looks great! The intakes in particular put me in mind of early jets-the Voodoo, or perhaps the Vampire/Vixen? Either way, good job!

Thanks! It's pretty much a mashup between a Hunter and a Cougar, their air intakes really are nice now aren't they!

Contract No. 001

1st Generation Jet Fighter

Developed by Uncle Carlos Aerospace...

Introducing the Seagull FA Mk III!

Uncle Carlos Aerospace (aka UCA) developed a fighter due to the rapid obsolescence of the Holiday Air Force. Even with the brand new Storm Petrel fighter, the Air Force was still decades out of date. As a quick solution to the problem was to upgrade this brand new fighter to bring it at least a little closer to modern capabilities. This upgraded Storm Petrel became the Seagull.

The Seagull was still nowhere near capable of tackling the latest fighters, and due to it being larger and heavier, it could have been considered worse than the Storm Petrel, however, the Seagull found a niche in ground attack. Being able to carry more payload than the Storm Petrel, it was moderately successful in the ground attack role. It carried eight rockets and two hidden 20mm cannons under the air intakes.

Contract #003

Generation 3

Panzerknoef/Zircon Aerospace

Zircon DFB-14 "Agung"

Being used to building lighter and more agile fighter, it was a bit of an adaptation for our engineers to build a bigger and heavier fighter-bomber, but in the end we're quite satisfied with our result. The final aircraft is a two-seater jet, powered by twin extra-powerful panther engines, capable of thrusting the plane up to mach 1.3 at sea level, and mach 2.6 at altitude. The aircraft has a very short takeoff run thanks to a set of flaps and large control surfaces. This makes it ideal for use on short runways and carrier decks. We've simply fitted every aircraft with arresting hooks, removing the necessity for a different navy-air force version. The landing gear can take a significant pounding as well, creating an aircraft perfectly suited for bumpy and short runways. The Agung is armed with 2 cannons and 6 AGM-65's (these can be replaced by any weapon of your choice). On top of that it carries to large fuel tanks by default, these can be switched out for weaponry as well, or left out entirely for better performance.

Description:

Its 1960, and with tensions brewing in the Middle East once again, Israel contracts Israeli Aircraft Industries to build a new fighter for their air force. The Israelis need a new fighter capable of engaging in turn fights with Egypt’s newly acquired MiG-21 soviet fighter aircraft. As tensions are already high, IAI knew they didn’t have much time. To make a fighter quickly, they turned to what they already had. Their assembly lines where already pumping out the IAI Nesher fighter-bomber, an aircraft designed based off of the French Mirage 5. The Israelis took a heavily modified Nesher airframe and added canards. This gave the aircraft much better turning characteristics, allowing it to compete with the MiG-21. The aircraft was named Paneter or, Panther in Hebrew

After the aircraft preformed exceptionally in the 6 days war, helping Israel secure its borders and establish dominance over its neighbors, the aircraft was looked at by the USAF. Seeing how well the aircraft did against the MiG-21, they were keen to see if it could solve their problems in Vietnam. In Vietnam, the USAF was having trouble with the soviet MiG-21, as it was much more maneuverable than their fighter aircraft. They wanted a smaller, nimbler fighter to counter it and they wanted it fast. This led them to look for already proven fighters from other countries and the Paneter was perfect.

Contract 7
Generation 5
C7R - prgmTrouble
W-20 Cælus Colubrum

Despite the massive budget cuts to the program, a new interceptor was hastily designed from the ground up to counter a new breed of fighter aircraft. This jet was built with large intakes to accompany its high-altitude engines, allowing it to move quickly at altitudes higher than most other aircraft. Additionally, it's simple and large wings make the jet easier to fly, fit more weapons or drop tanks, and tolerate more damage. The jet can accelerate to mach 2 in level flight at sea level and touch down on a carrier at 60 m/s. Comes stock with 6 unguided missiles.

Contract 004

Generation 3

Panzerknoef/Zircon Aerospace

Zircon SEF-15B "Shiveluch"

The SEF-15B is a fighter designed to do exactly what its type is supposed to do, fight. It's powered by a single powerful jet engine which can, as usual, propel the craft up to speeds in excess of mach 2. Unlike earlier craft though, the Shiveluch has been designed with dogfighting in mind. As such it's highly maneuverable and can stay airborne and effective even at very low speeds. It is however not recommended to pull high G maneuvers at high speeds since 1. you will pull more G's than a pilot can physically survive, and 2. The setup of the airframe can experience instability in said maneuvers, it can easily and quickly be rectified, but we want to save you the trouble of finding it out yourself anyway. Armament consists of the standard double machine gun mounted in the nose, on top of that it carries 4 small missiles and 2 larger ones.

Contract 001

First Generation Jet Fighter

valens/Krumann Aviation P-34 "Comet"

An all-around fighter-bomber that can carry two bombs and two unguided missiles, as well as having six guns on the nose. As a carrier-based fighter aircraft, it sports two engines (and can in fact fly on one) and a tail hook (tail hook is retracted on the KerbalX model).

[Production notes : Due to the aerodynamics of KSP and missiles, four Junos have been clipped together two by two, and two air intakes have similarly been clipped together, in order to develop enough power to give the "Comet" acceptable performances. Otherwise it is a straightforward plane, inspired by staples of the late 40s and 50s such as the Lockheed P-80 or the Dassault Ouragan and Mystère, and its design actually started on paper and pen!]

AG3 Toggle flaps
AG4 Drop port bomb
AG5 Drop starboard bomb
AG6 Drop port rocket
AG7 Drop starboard rocket
AG0 Toggle ladder
