[Rescue mission] Apollo capsule stuck around minmus ;-;

Recommended Posts

Hi !

Today i made a few test with my first apollo-style rocket ever. Everything seemed fine until i tried to orbit Minmus : I didn't realize that i was nearly out of fuel... now the ship is stranded here with Jeb, Bob and Bill inside ;-;

I already tried a rescue mission with a Soyuz but it couldn't reach minmus, plus there is only one seat in it and i'm horrible at orbital rendez-vous x_x

Can someone help me ? I don't want to lose Jeb, Bob and Bill !

Here is a link to my savefile if anyone wants to help me, thanks by advance [ https://mega.nz/#!r4tEkACb!85wOLZ_oMGT7HHY37hlLCAbcEjZifyxTse2Ki0ZaS_A ]

Thanks a lot !

Unfortunately we lost some solar panels due to collision with the fairing during launch. While you can complete the Minmus landing and return, if you aren't careful you can find yourself with no power. I turned the good ones toward the sun.

I cannot be chilled, due to the plasma licking at my service bay.

Anyway, I did rescue them, although not quite as planned - I wanted to take the pod down to the runway, but it threw my balance off, so I ejected it. (It had parachutes, don't worry).

Here's the Starchaser II. It isn't the one I used for this - that was retrofitted with 2 more seats & a Klaw. But it performs quite well for 3 kerbals, with a massive range and ISRU.

I mean chill your emotions, not your craft, you did well actually, i'm still quite of a garbage in SSTO Spaceplanes. (Get some SSTO Spaceplane to the K-Prize party thread, an SSTO that works perfectly should qualify, yet no ISRU is allowed, grab the medal if you already did)

Also how much stress SciFiVe did to your RAM ??? (and how to install it, i'll need it to make myself look cool for my Grand Tour)

I chose SciFiVE as it promised absolutely no hit to my RAM. It only made the loading time a bit longer.

My Starchaser II is basically my first ever SSTO (It needed NERVAs because I was the worst pilot ever) but a few months later I made it much better, including ISRU and command-bay seats. I'll put either a cooler or a more Kerbal SSTO on the K Prize thread.

While the Kerbals of the KSC spared a lot of expense to provide a Kerbal rescue. Because Mort is in charge, and he likes EVA seats. On interplanetary missions.

Yours was a good rescue though.
