Is gameslinx actually planning on fixing this mod

In due time. I've had other things to work on both IRL and modding wise. I'm working on Parallax and a new terrain scatter system that handles foliage and rocks which I plan to bring to Beyond Home in the future, but before I can update BH (and to save me more work), I need to get these systems in place first

Hi Gameslinx,

I am new to KSP, but I would love a version of beyond home where you start at kerbin and the stock system is still there, but the Tempus system orbits far away as another star system. I don't know how feasible this actually is, but I play with extrasolar right now and would love the Tempus system aswell.

Thanks

I can’t think of any reason why this wouldn’t work, might try it later when I have time. Other planet packs (e.g. GPP and GEP) have patches to do the same thing.

Update to the above: after ten or so attempts to load the game, I've managed to "succeed" just once- Tempus appeared as a second star system, but the stock one was missing and there were two Rhodes, one in the Tempus system and the other floating on its own. Not as easy as I initially anticipated...

OK, I give up. Either the Tempus system works as an extrasolar system, but the stock system is completely gone and there's a second Rhode orbiting around the space where the sun should be, or I get a massive wall of Kopernicus exceptions. Oddly enough the tracking stations on the Rhode in Tempus system are still working, but the KSC is on the Rhode orbiting the non-existent sun.

I'm not really sure why this isn't working, but if someone else wants to pick this up then I can share the configs I've made so far at that point.

I used to remember those lava on ash make things overheat. But I doesn't this time. Does the overheating feature of lava being removed?

If you're playing Beyond Home on any version after 1.8, you're going to encounter all sorts of bugs. KSP version 1.8 was the last version where Beyond Home was its most stable.

After that, 1.10 is your second safest bet, but you'll definitely start encountering some bugs; Gateway not having any terrain and some scatters being broken, for example. Might also encounter the weird floating scatters in this version, not sure, but you will encounter them in 1.12.

Not sure which version lava broke in, unfortunately, or if it's caused by a mod incompatibility.

Hi! I'm running into an issue using this pack, where whenever a craft approaches the ground, a bunch of black squares will suddenly show up, and I am not able to eyeball how high off the surface I am. Has anyone else run into this as well?

I've seen that before, but it was over a year ago in KSP 1.10 with a 3.5x rescale applied.

Does anyone know if the ground scatters (e.g. the structures on Lua) are disabled by Parallax? So far I've only found a few trees on Lua despite flying the whole way around it in a plane recently, but I remember them being more prevalent and nearly crashing into one at one point before.

The second quote here is exactly the problem I'm having. For example, when I load a craft onto the Launchpad, I can see the parts that are part of KSC itself (concrete pads, roads around it, track to VAB, etc), but none of the surrounding surface of Rhode is visible at all, just the black void.

I should mention that I'm not playing on any sort of rescale, nor have I gone into the files to muck about with the planets themselves, but I do have RealExoplanets installed, could that be giving me an issue? (i'm not really knowledgeable about modding)

Beyond Home is not compatible with:

  • External visual mods (SVE, AVP, SVT...)
  • External planet mods (JNSQ, GPP, GPO...)

Check the second bullet point

Ordinarily, i'd go with the thing you pointed out. However, the second person I quoted is also running into this problem, and they are saying they only have a 3.5x rescale mod that is affecting the terrain.

I have a funny feeling that if we can discover what went wrong with their installation, mine can be fixed pretty easily.

1.8.1, or 1.8.0? And what versions do you recommend for its dependencies? (Aside from Parallax, which I'm 96% sure has to be 1.0.1.)

I'm having the same issue while playing on 1.12.2; it may be due to the version of parallax or perhaps the version. I'm checking parallax version first.

Did you have much luck finding out what was wrong?

Has anyone had trouble finding the terraformers on Lua? Seemed like they spawned more frequently in years past. Im running the latest KSP and Kopernicus (Build 90) but with the proper Parrallax version. I am Sans EVE but I don't think that would have an effect on anything. Other Terrain Features are spawning in fine like the trees and other terrain scatters so it leads me to believe they have just become exceedingly rare. However I have scoured all of the highlands to no avail. I don't suppose someone could point me in the right direction as to changing their spawn rate just to make sure they are working as intended.

Hey, i need some help... All atmospheric bodies including but not limited to Rhode, Gateway, Kohm, etc. have lost all their clouds and aurorae. im not sure if its something wrong with the version. it was perfectly fine before, but then it all changed when the glitches attacked.
