Kerbin Collaborative Space Station

I've just realised something about the spreadsheet we've got...

"When calculating the budget, use retail cost not actual cost" - The Rules.

So we need to swap in the actual costs for the lifter retail costs. Oops.

Which do you guys like better? What do you want changed?

I think it would be nice if you expanded on the crew capacity. It looks so small right now. It also doesn't have a small and a tiny docking port! (It would be bes if you added multiple dps on it as it will probably serve as a core module)

@swjr-swis and @Rover 6428, your HabModule 1, needs an additional senior docking on the top, and the tug contains the Making History RCS tanks.

Thankyou.

Why would it need another senior dp? It is not a core module: Administrative is.

Because there are not enough, and in my assembly, it is part of the centre spoke.

I am away atm, so I cannot help in any way. Could you please send a screenshot of the station?

Yes, screenshots would be appreciated.

Finally, Here are the craft files, so @Barzon Kerman can add them to his WIP KCSS on kerbalx.

Cheap Science Package: https://kerbalx.com/JohnsterSpaceProgram/Cheap-Science-Package

Fuel Transfer Tug: https://kerbalx.com/JohnsterSpaceProgram/Fuel-Transfer-Tug

Cupola Module: https://kerbalx.com/JohnsterSpaceProgram/Cupola-Module

EVA Module: https://kerbalx.com/JohnsterSpaceProgram/EVA-Module

Also when I try and load the kcss station in stock ksp 1.6.1 it says cannot load. Are there any modded parts on it?

Alright, I added more habitation and fuel but I didn't add any more docking ports because I thought that was the job of the docking pier and if I add a bunch then there won't be anything for the docking pier to do.

I don't know much about the radiators so if you think it needs more let me know.

btw if you look closely there is actually a tiny port across from the comms

Technically not supposed to help, but most of the docking piers use 1.25m ports, and appear to be oriented towards facilitating transfer vehicles. There currently appears to be a lack of a central 2.5m docking port node. If the station was currently assembled, I could see it looking like one giant long pole... Which isn't necessarily bad, but many modules only have one 2.5m port and as Barzon said,

No time to make that thing, but i have it in mind, it will look like a pair of Cupolas, "backing" each other with something like 2 Docking Ports (that should give me nice aesthetics that look like some coin) in the sides.

Does anyone mind giving me some inspiration about EVA Modules ???

Just a quick heads up: the proposals I posted here were just that, proposals, to give you good folks something to think about. I was seeing (and still see) a lot of excess cost and weight being submitted for a challenge that kinda requires heavily optimizing on both of those constraints.

But if you guys are serious about wanting to use my proposals as is, I will look later today at removing the spurious DLC mono tanks (which were there to conform to the design drawing) and/or see what other modules/vehicles I can come up with.
